No matter where any of you are in the pecking order, isn't it kind of cool to be a part of this collection [of quarterbacks] this year?
Yeah. I think it's really cool. Even just talking to the guys now, talking to them here, we all know we're good players, and we all know that we play the position differently, but we all respect each other, in a way of, "He's really good at this. He's really good at that." All of us being able to watch the different aspects of our game is really cool to be a part of.
Beard or no beard?
I'm a beard guy.
Just stick with that. If I shave this thing, it'll grow back tomorrow, so I might as well just keep it.
So you don't even have to call your mom?
No, no, no, no. My mom, she doesn't like when it gets too long, she always says trim it down on the sides, but I don't know. She likes it.
Second goofy question. When you were out speaking at the press conference, someone tweeted that you would be a good John Wick sequel player. What do you think about that? Could you pull off a John Wick?
I absolutely could. I got to grow the beard out a little longer, but that's hilarious. That's awesome.
In regards to the DLD 13 social media campaign, was that something that you presented to the staff? Was that something they presented to you? What was that? What were those discussions like?
Yeah, so our media team, they kind of came together after this season and they were like, "Hey, you're doing a lot of remarkable things on the field. Your stats are pretty good, but we feel as if you're not getting the best national attention."
So our media team came together, Annabelle Meyers put together our website, and she was like, "No, I think we should go with D Leary Delivers."
It's a pretty good rhyme, and she planned different events of where I could deliver different gifts and different community service events, and ever since then, it's been great.
I think you're supposed to be making an appearance this Sunday with the IPS Elite+ get together. How excited are you for that?
Yeah, very excited, very excited. I think it'll be a great time for not only NC State fans, but for all the athletes on the team, too.
I'm sorry, I'm going to have to drop the H word. Do you see yourself as a potential Heisman winner for this season?
Yeah, I would like to say so. I think as a high school recruit, coming into college, watching guys like Reggie Bush and Johnny Manziel and all these Heisman Trophy winners, one day you hope to say that that could be you one day.
To hear myself in that conversation, I wouldn't want it any other way.
