If White failed at first and struggled at third here, what makes him think he can play at FSU?

I think the reality is that most kids don't care about the school they play for anymore, so jumping around to them doesn't matter. Most of us cannot imagine putting on the jersey of a rival program, because we care about our school. Other fan bases I'm sure feel the same way. That is why when you see what Terquavian did or you see the guys that have genuine love for NC State it makes them special. I understand when you are good enough to go to the league and you take the money, but jumping around from school to school with no loyalty just doesn't sit well. It makes since that kids can get some revenue, but these bidding wars (including seeking out the best offer/free agency) cannot be allowed to continue or college sports will crumble.

Money grab. NIL. Sucks but can you blame him. If I was an 18-22 year old kid and someone is throwing me a boat load of cash I'd probably go too. Just really sucks for fans and supporters. NIL needs to be reigned in though. Ruining college sports. Can't think of any other reason why he'd leave other than cash.

Tommy was gone even if we made the tournament. I guess if we made a monster run that could keep him

There's no way this isn't tampering. I wonder how long he or his "people" hves been talking to other schools.

I had just renewed my subscription last week after being off for almost 2 months before all this crap happened.

Check back next month and there after. I may renew for football season, but I may not.

I think many fans are reflexively raging at NIL here, without understanding what really happened.

It's looking like he wanted to play 3rd base full time, and was pissed off that it wasn't happening. Nothing more to see here, really. Say la vee!

Sitting here in Reagan Airport with my 9 yr old grandson who went with me to CWS last year. Cannot adequately explain to him why a beloved Wolfpack star like Tommy Tanks would leave.

Meh..$10 or $20 per month versus thousands per year of feeding the beast via collectives and WPC are two different things. I think many are taking a hard look at how this could be pearls to the swine as far as where to give one's money.

If he was serious about money he would go to JUCO for a year then jump for the MLB draft. I still think someone would invest heavy after the display he put on with his bat, but who knows.

Everybody ****ting on Tommy's fielding acting like players can't improve. That's sort of what coaches are for. Tommy will be just fine in the field, unfortunately not here and it sucks hard for us.

Need someone to spill the beans of how this all went down, when, and why.

The biggest thing is that you had a once in a generation star that would bump the profile of the program. It doesn't necessarily get you a lot more wins, but National Player of the Week and Sportscenter run gives the program and university some pub. Also just the excitement when he came to bat. This is why it stinks. We had an awesome lineup last year without someone hitting 27 homers so the team will be ok.

We had him for a year. He hit a lot of homers. Broke a couple of records. Was not particularly good in the field. Maybe he ends up being a generational player at his next stop. Maybe not. We also had Trea Turner and Carlos Rodon. I would argue that their body of work and impact for the NCSU brand far surpasses anything Tommy accomplished. I mean we had ARod hanging around when Dunand was here. Really I wish him the best on his decision but from a program perspective it's not in the same hemisphere as say a Russell Wilson level loss. And Russ didn't leave for the $$.

Is wrong for me to wish him the worst Sophomore slump in the history of college athletics?
