NC State left tackle Ikem Ekwonu met the media shortly after the Wolfpack's annual Pro Day, and he discussed his decision to only do the bench press, teams he's had contact with, and much more!

“It’s been great.  I’m excited with this whole process. It’s definitely been fun with me.”

“The most... I’d probably say the Jaguars are up there. The Giants, Jets... I've talked to the Browns a lot, the Panthers.”

“The fact that I’m in this position is a dream come true.”

“A couple of teams have talked about it and asked me where do I see myself at, and I tell them that I see myself as a left tackle. I've been playing it the last couple of years and I feel like I'm barely scratching my surface of my potential.”

“I’ve always been a team player, and wherever they need me to play... I’ll play.  That’s what I'm being paid to do, be the best player I can be; that’s what I'm going to be.”

“I've had conversations with Joe Thuney, lineman-to-lineman; that's been great for me.”

“We all have our passions in our family.”

“The whole season I didn’t read a single mock draft.”

“At the end of the day, a lot can change. Even on draft day you can have trades."

“Legacy-wise, I think we’ve only had two I believe at NC State, first overall picks... the fact that I’d be in the State history book for that reason would mean the world to me.”

“Something that I came to State really wanting to do was leave a legacy, leave a mark here. I wanted the Ekwonu name to have a lot of meaning and a lot of weight at NC State. That was the main thing that would have held me back... I feel like I’ve done that.”

“They teach me things, Speas, McKay. We bounce things off each other and are always talking in the offensive line room. That's a reason I feel like we have success in that room."

“If I had any advice, I guess, keep working.”

“I'm really excited to see Speas, Tim McKay, and the whole offensive line work this year.”

"I worked out at the combine... the only thing I couldn’t do at the combine was the bench so I wanted to finish my whole assessment by benching here.”

“I did 26... I was aiming for the mid-20s and I’m proud of that number.”

“I have a couple of visits setup throughout April.”
