Inside Pack Sports subscribers and members,
On February 21st Inside Pack Sports will be launching the first phase of our NIL strategy in the form of a subscription product called Elite+, which will allow NC State fans to subscribe and fund exclusive content we create in partnership with current Wolfpack athletes.
Contribute $10, $25, or $100 monthly or $100, $250, or $1,000 annually (your choice) and gain access to all athlete content behind the Elite+ paywall. We’ll have all the info available once it’s launched, this is just a quick heads-up!
Elite+ will allow Inside Pack Sports to compensate current athletes for their time and the use of their name, image, and/or likeness through talent agreements that we negotiate and submit to compliance. The content will be exclusive to Elite+ members only.
Anyone who has followed my work at Inside Pack Sports probably knows that I’m a big believer in allowing student-athletes to be compensated for their contributions. Schools already should be doing it on a higher level, but since they aren't, NIL allows athletes to at least receive some compensation when those options are available.
Our goal with Elite+ is to maximize the amount of money athletes share -- while doing so in a financially and organizationally sustainable way. With that in mind, our initial commitment for 2022 will be to use at least 75% of what we bring in to fund our NIL content. The amount IPS retains will be used to administer the Elite+ service and employ our staff to produce the exclusive content.
One of the biggest features available to Elite+ subscribers will be a “members only” forum that we hope to make interactive with athletes moving forward. This forum is where all NIL content will be housed and will be heavily-moderated, because we hope to have student athletes participating in Q&A threads, live chats, etc., as a part of individual agreements.
We intend to engage Wolfpack athletes across all sports and will ramp up to do that as we understand the subscriber demand. Also know that there will still be some NIL content made available to premium subscribers and free users, but the paywall is important because we are making a service to which we believe Wolfpack Nation will truly want to subscribe.
Again, we'll have much more on Elite+ when it is launched, including a Q&A page and obviously subscriber options, but I wanted to give an early heads-up to answer any questions members may initially have.
Please note that when you subscribe, your current IPS subscription will restart so that both it and your new Elite+ subscription are in sync. You will automatically be credited for any time remaining on your current subscription.
We had multiple opportunities over the last year to join a national network, but we value our independence and ability to implement unique options such as Elite+. Since starting in 2017 we've continued to grow and build our membership, and I believe 2022 will be a huge, huge year for Inside Pack Sports. If you have any questions, reply below and I'll do my best to answer leading up to the official launch – which is tentatively set for Monday, February 21st at 11:00am.
