Drake Thomas Named ACC Linebacker of the Week

RALEIGH, N.C. – Drake Thomas has been named the ACC Linebacker of the Week after his performance in the Pack's 28-13 home win over Louisville.

The Wake Forest, N.C., native tallied a career-high 15 tackles and helped hold a Cardinals offense that averaged 31.7 points a game to just 13 points, one touchdown. He started and played all 73 defensive snaps, moving into the middle linebacker position after Isaiah Moore sustained a season-ending injury last week.

Thomas also had two sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss, and five of his tackles were for 0 or negative yardage. One sack was on a 2nd & goal when the Cardinals ended up settling for a field goal, the other was on 3rd & 7.

The leader of the injury-depleted Pack that did not allow a rushing TD in the contest (the Pack now leads the FBS with just 1 rushing TD allowed this season). The Cardinals were averaging 2.4 rushing TDs per game coming into the contest, and QB Malik Cunningham led the nation with 13 rushing scores entering the game.
