Definitely looking like a reload for Avent and the Pack9. If the pitching can be as good as expected, could be another strong run to Omaha in the books.

Major reload any way you look at it. But the tone has been set to play hard, put team first and be tough on defense and at the plate. This will be a much different team, but could grow into something special.

He played a ton of 1B as well, in addition to being their DH at times as well.

Went back and looked it up...Groover played:

1B - 34 games
2B- 13 games
RF- 6 games
DH- 1 game
3B- 1 game
Pinch hit in 2 games as well.

I may missed a game or two but we get the picture.

Just saw that. Here's to him manning 1st. Tommy white at 3rd. Hood at SS, JT at 2nd. Solid infield offensively there

Good stuff. I went the other direction, I looked at the last games of the year and it was 2nd/RF. Glad I was wrong!

I had written Mitchell off but looking at the Rangers draft, it's a very real possibility, maybe even likely, they won't have the $$ to offer him, whatever his number is.

I think he's coming into a new position. No one is leaving that I know of, at least none of the 2 paid assistants.

I just don't see Tresh settling for a 125k signing bonus and I think he'll be back. The Miss State pitcher's slot value is $398,000 and the Royals only have $238,400 left in their pool of funds.

This is from mlb.com that I found below...

Teams that exceed their bonus pool face a penalty. Clubs that outspend their allotment by 0-5 percent pay a 75 percent tax on the overage. At higher thresholds, clubs lose future picks: a first-rounder and a 75 percent tax for surpassing their pool by between 5-10 percent; a first- and a second-rounder and a 100 percent tax for between 10-15 percent; and two first-rounders and a 100 percent tax for going more than 15 percent over their pool allotment. In nine years with bonus pool rules, teams have outspent their allotments a total of 152 times, but never by more than 5 percent. The Cardinals, Cubs, Dodgers and Giants have done so every time, and 15 of the 30 teams exceeded their pools last year.

5% of the Royals pool is $545,885. I couldn't find online if the Royals have ever done it before but I'm assuming they have if it's happened 152 times in 9 years (30 teams x 9 years is 270 potential times). It's going to be an interesting week to see what happens with Tresh.

pre-draft if you said we get Devonte Brown back and potentially Tresh, and all recruits show up to campus except Watson and Craig.. we take that every time. That's not even counting the new transfers and the new C commits.

Clint Chrysler has been on it as well. He and Hart have been killing it this summer.
