NC State just landed a commitment from Chapin (SC) 2022 running back Bennett Galloway‍.  He committed to the Wolfpack after a recent unofficial visit to State. He told Inside Pack Sports that the coaching staff is what made the difference in his decision.

“The thing that separates NC State is the coaching staff, especially coach Roper and coach Doeren,” Galloway told Inside Pack Sports today. “I look forward to being coached by them and being molded into a better athlete. I’ve also got Thornton (Gentry) up there. He’s always sending me Snapchats and stuff just saying “this is your home”. He’s always telling me how great it is.

“I play running back but I also return kicks and I’m not afriad of hard work and I look forward to being pushed as an athlete and just seeing where the coaches want to put me. But I’m going to put in 100% effort where ever they put me.”

Galloway earned an offer after camping earlier this month at NC State.  He checked in at 5-10, 190 pounds and ripped off a 4.45-second 40-yard dash along with an eye-popping 3.96-second pro shuttle. He also logged an equally impressive 33.6-inch vertical jump. Galloway followed that up by impressing during drills – particularly in one on ones.

"The coaching staff was great,” he said after the camp. “I loved the nutrition plan, everything they've got going on there. But we had a chance to see the facilities like the weight room, stuff like that, but not much of the campus. The coaches were up front and it just seemed like a great school. It was just so crazy to get that offer. I'm still stoked."

During a Covid-shortened eight game junior season, Galloway still managed to rush for 867 yards on 151 carries, averaging nearly six yards every time he touched the ball. He also added 22 receptions for 213 yards, and he totaled 14 touchdowns on the year.
