Is this Avent's best team? Our guys will get another real time test in the next (let's hope) "several" days. If you look at the Koops usage issues, it reveals it's easier to coach a very good and nine deep (no bench) team than to have some MLB talent and a dug out full of other decent options. In both regionals, the commentators had trouble deciding which NCSU players to highlight. If you have a "iron nine" with no substitutes, that eliminates a bunch of coaching decisions. On the pitching side, there are three starters and two relievers and no other options, so roles become clear.
I would add two factors in favor of the best team ever. Top to bottom team defense and team speed is huge for this team. They all run well and give away almost nothing in field.
