COMMIT ALERT: 2022 4-Star RB Michael Allen Picks NC State

NC State just landed a commitment from Greenville (NC) Rose four-star running back Michael Allen‍.

Allen, a consensus Top 10 player in the state, picked the Wolfpack over offers from North Carolina, Duke, Virginia, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisville, and South Carolina, among others.

At 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds, Allen is one of the fastest players in the state, as he posted a 4.48 laser 40-yard dash back in November of 2020.

A major part of NC State’s pitch has been the opportunity to potentially play early. Zonovan Knight and Ricky Person are two players who could depart for the NFL after the 2021 season, so it’s imperative for the Wolfpack to land a running back capable of playing right away.

“Coach Roper has told me that playing time there would be big,” said Allen. “They have said they need a back ready to play.”
