NC State has landed a huge commitment from Pace Academy (GA) 2022 four-star quarterback MJ Morris‍.

NC State made a big move earlier in the spring when Morris attended a spring practice.

“It was absolutely amazing,” he stated.  “It blew me away. We watched practice and I just loved watching practice. I was watching coach Beck and the quarterbacks and how they did things, and they just looked really efficient. They did some fast tempo stuff. They did some slow down stuff.”

Morris picked NC State over 30+ offers including Florida State, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Miami, among others.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder has been on the recruiting radar for a while now, and Wolfpack OC Tim Beck made him an early priority.

“I love coach Beck,” Morris previously stated.  “We’ve been talking for over three months, so our relationship is really strong. We talk three or four times – and if we’re not talking, we text back and forth. He talks to my mom. He talks to my dad. He really has a relationship with my whole family. It gets stronger and stronger each day.

“I love his coaching style. I love how detailed he is; how he develops quarterbacks. We were on Zoom and he was with my mom and dad and he showed us a presentation of how he helped develop Joe Barrow, Sam Ehlinger, and JT Barrett, and that just blew me away -- all that he’s accomplished. So, that’s something I love about him.”

Morris is NC State’s second commitment in the 2022 class, joining in-state lineman Rylan Vann‍.

Inside Pack Sports will have more shortly from Morris on his decision, so stay tuned!
