NC State Announces Revamped Football Recruiting Staff
RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State head coach Dave Doeren has revamped the NC State recruiting staff with a new leader, creative team and analysts.
Leading the staff will be Wolfpack alum Merci Falaise, who has been elevated to the Director of Player Personnel position. Falaise, who has served as director of recruiting and assistant director of player personnel since 2017, played a key role in the Wolfpack's last four recruiting classes. He will be the ACC's first black Director of Player Personnel.
"I'm excited that we've been able to find great people to fill these roles," said Doeren. "As a former player, Merci knows firsthand about all that NC State has to offer and I'm looking forward to having him lead our recruiting efforts."
Falaise came to NC State after three seasons working on the football staff at Tennessee. Prior to his stint with the Vols, the former Wolfpack offensive lineman was the offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Garden City Community College in 2014. He also coached two seasons on the high school level in his home state of Georgia at Washington-Wilkes High School and Greene County High School. Falaise began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Georgia Military College in charge of the offensive line and tight ends.
After beginning his playing career at Georgia Military College where he was a first-team NJCAA All American, Falaise transferred to NC State. After earning his bachelor's degree in sports management from NC State, he received a master's in management and leadership from Liberty University in 2012.
Corey Phillips has also joined the staff as Director of Scouting. He comes to NC State after a five-year stint as the assistant recruiting coordinator at Vanderbilt. A successful high school coach in the Nashville area, Phillips coached at Father Ryan High School from 2007-14, serving as defensive and special teams coordinator. He mentored seven all-state players, seven All-Midstate honorees and 14 Division II All-Region selections at Father Ryan.
Phillips was a collegiate standout at Austin Peay (Tenn.) State University and a prep star at Father Ryan. At Austin Peay, he was a four-year starter at defensive back, earning Newcomer of the Year honors as a freshman and First Team All-Conference honors as a senior.
Phillips earned a bachelor's degree in administration from Austin Peay in 2005 and completed his master's degree in education from Belmont University in 2007.
Another NC State alum, Quint Cottingham will return to the Wolfpack as Assistant Director of Player Personnel for the offense. The Greensboro, N.C., native served as a recruiting intern for the Wolfpack from 2017-20 before spending the last year on the staff at Ohio State.
Joining the staff as Director of Creative Media is Mike Jones, who has worked on the recruiting staffs at two other ACC schools. Jones spent the past two seasons as a Creative Media & Branding Assistant for UNC Football. Aside from producing creative content for recruiting and social media, he assisted with film evaluation & on-campus recruiting. He also helped kickstart the in-house branding program, BLUEPRINT919.
Previously to UNC, he served as Recruiting & Creative Media Assistant for Wake Forest University Football. He assisted with film evaluation, on-campus recruiting, and producing social media & recruiting content. He aided in securing the highest rated recruiting class in Wake Forest Football history.
Jones, a graduate of Liberty University, was a student assistant recruiting analyst for the Flames football program for two years, specializing in recruit film evaluation, on-campus recruiting, gameday operations and recruiting travel for coaches. He received his Bachelor's in Sport Management with a Minor in Coaching. Originally from Ash, North Carolina, he relocated to the Triangle area and resided in Apex, where he attended Apex High School.
Maurice Moses will serve as Pack Football's new Assistant Director of Creative Media. He spent last season on the video production staff at Georgia Southern and prior to that spent four years as an intern at Mississippi State as an intern for Hail State Productions.
Moses earned his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State and began pursuing his master's at Georgia Southern.
