Joker Phillips Will Coach Wide Receivers At NC State

Maryland co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Joker Phillips will replace George McDonald as wide receivers coach at NC State, a source confirmed tonight.

Phillips, who is regarded as a strong recruiter and was previously head coach at Kentucky, spent the last two seasons at Maryland under Mike Locksley.

Phillips also spent a season at Ohio State in 2016 with offensive coordinator Tim Beck and has had multiple stops on the same staff with NC State running backs coach Kurt Roper.

Terms of his contract are unknown at this time.
