NC State has earned a bid to the 76th TaxSlayer Gator Bowl after finishing the 2020 season with an 8-3 overall record.

The Wolfpack returns to TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. for the first time since losing to Texas A&M in the 2018 iteration of the Gator Bowl, 52-13. This marks State’s sixth bowl bid under head coach Dave Doeren.

Following the initial announcement of State’s bid to the Gator Bowl, Kentucky was named as the Pack’s opponent. The Wildcats finished the season 4-6 overall, playing the entire schedule against fellow Southeastern Conference opponents. Kentucky finished fourth in the SEC East division behind Florida, Georgia, and Missouri.

Kentucky is led on offense by quarterback Terry Wilson. The Oklahoma City native has thrown for 1,095 yards on 112-for-179 passing with seven touchdowns and four interceptions. On the ground, Chris Rodriguez leads the way with 701 yards on 102 carries with nine scores.
