Ekwonu, Wilson Earn ACC Player of the Week Honors
A pair of Wolfpack players earned ACC Player of the Week honors for their performances in NC State's 31-20 win over Duke this past weekend.
Payton Wilson was named the ACC Linebacker of the Week, while Ikem Ekwonu was named co-Offensive Lineman of the Week.
Wilson finished with a game-high 19 tackles, the most for a Pack player since Earl
Wolff also had 19 vs. Clemson in 2012. Wilson also recorded two interceptions, the most for a Wolfpack LB in the same game since Jerod Fernandez had two against Florida State in 2014. He currently leads the ACC in tackles per game (11.0), a mark that ranks sixth nationally.
After playing the first four games of the season at right guard, Ekwonu started his first game of the season at right tackle against Duke. He was in for all 72 snaps, and had five knockdown blocks and graded out at 90% after not allowing a sack, hit or even a hurry.
This marks the second time this season Ekwonu received the honor, as he was also named the co-offensive lineman of the week after the Pack's win at #24 Pitt.
