PTWP: NC State's Torin Dorn Believes Pack Is Ready To Compete
NC State redshirt junior guard Torin Dorn met with the media after Primetime With The Pack.
Opening Statement...
With everything there's a consequence in practice. If you lose anything, any drill, there's running involved. It's a consequence.
Will you have to run for losing to the girls?
I hope not. It's just holding people accountable. Heading into this new era, we need everybody to be held accountable for our success.
How will that show up in the season?
Every possession will mean more because we've been in those battles in practice, competing so hard. In PNC when you lose those games, there are consequences to it. We'll embody that.
Players don't like consequences. You're obviously getting something out of it.
Definitely. You get in shape doing it, and it teaches you discipline and teaches you how to value every possession. When you're doing it you may not like it, but when you look back on it, it's something you'll see is necessary for the team to be successful.
What did you work on in practice?
Just being a leader... doing all the little things. Also becoming a better defender, I can take my game to the next level.
What about shooting or ball-handling?
Shooting and ball-handling are always things you can always improve and try to get better. Nobody makes all their shots so you can always improve there.
Are there more one-on-one opportunities in this offense?
It's a free-flowing offense where you can get out in space and make plays.
What's it been like preparing for the upcoming season?
It's been intense. We run a lot, and coach Keatts preaches us being the most in-shape team in the country. In order to do that, you have to run.
How excited will you be to get out there?
I'm super excited to start a new year, and I'm always excited to get on the court and play. That's what I love to do, so it's always fun.
