NC State has landed a commitment from Reidsville (NC) two-sport star Breon Pass‍, who gave his commitment to Wolfpack hoops coach Kevin Keatts.

Pass is one of the best athletes in the state.  He led Reidsville to a football state title this season, totaling 900 receiving yards and 21 total touchdowns.  He also averaged 22 points and seven assists for the Rams on the hardwood as the team’s starting point guard.

Breon Pass is a talented guard prospect with upside.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder had offers from programs like NC State, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech on the gridiron, but has decided to play hoops on the next level.

"After sittting down with my mom and sister and knowing that my dad played basketball in college and overseas, I wanted to continue the legacy,” Pass said. “Basketball has always been in my heart, but it was hard to let football go. If I have a senior year I'll play it again, but my focus now is on basketball.”

He is projected to play on and off the ball for the Wolfpack.

"I try to get everybody involved,” Pass previously stated.  “I have a lot of energy, like playing defense, and I also think I can score when I need to.  I also love rebounding and playing physical... I think I get that from football.

“I’m trying to work on my ball-screen game... just reading screens better and making better decisions.”

Pass picked NC State over offers from Georgia Tech, St. John’s, Providence, East Carolina, Iona, and Rutgers, among others.

He is NC State’s third commitment in the 2021 class, joining guard Terquavion Smith‍ and Top 50 forward Ernest Ross‍.

Inside Pack Sports will have more soon from Pass on his decision, so stay tuned!
