Defensive end Bradley Chubb and TD scorer Jaylen Samuels have been named to the Associated Press' midseason All-American first team. Running back Nyheim Hines was named to the second team as an all-purpose player.

Chubb, who has been named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week twice this season, ranks second in the FBS in tackles for loss, leading the ACC. He has been previously named to the ESPN, Sporting News and The Athletic midseason All-America squads and was selected by ESPN as the midseason defensive player of the year.

Samuels is tied with Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson for the ACC lead in touchdowns scored with 10 this season (ninth in the FBS) and is the only active player with 15+ rushing touchdowns and 15+ receiving touchdowns. He was also previously named to the ESPN and Sporting News' midseason All-America squads and was named to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award – given annually to the nation's top receiver.

Hines leads the ACC and ranks fourth in the FBS in all-purpose yards, while ranking second in the ACC, 22nd in the FBS, in rushing with 648 yards. He is the first FBS player this century to score touchdowns of 80 or more yards on both a punt return and a rush in a single game.  His 83-yard rushing TD at Pitt was the seventh longest in school history, while his 92-yard punt return was the second longest ever and the longest since 1926.  The Athletic named him to their midseason All-America first team as a returner.
