NC State landed its first commitment for the class of 2021 on Saturday when Huntersville (NC) Hopewell WR Julian Gray‍  pledged to the Wolfpack.

Gray (5-11, 185 pounds) landed early offers from Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Duke in addition to State. While the Pack looked to be the early team to beat, a visit to Raleigh on Friday sealed the deal. Gray told Inside Pack Sports he loved everything the Wolfpack program has to offer.

“NC State is just a really good program and I love everything they do there. I love the way coach Doeren coaches. I love coach McDonald...he’s a very experienced wide receiver’s coach- he’s put multiple people in the league. I love the hard, tough, together motto. I think that builds a good program. I really love the strength and conditioning program there as well.”

As a junior Gray totaled 57 catches for 1,217 yards and nine touchdowns. He runs the 100-meter dash in track and has been timed as low as 10.8-seconds. Rated a three-star prospect, Gray said he intends to enroll early.

Stay tuned as Inside Pack Sports will have much more on the Wolfpack’s first commitment of 2021.
