The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2019-20 All-ACC Academic Men’s Basketball Team Friday morning with Florida State’s Trent Forrest earning the 2020 Skip Prosser Award, given to the league’s top scholar-athlete. NC State’s Braxton Beverly and Pat Andree were named, along with 29 other student-athletes, to the conference’s academic team.

According to the release by the ACC, the requirements needed to earn selection onto the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester as well as a cumulative 3.0 GPA during the player’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the current season are also given consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team.

Beverly, a junior studying sport management, currently averages 6.7 points and 24.8 minutes per game with 35 assists and 19 steals on the season. Though his impact on the court this season has been limited due to back complications, he is one of only two players on the Wolfpack’s roster that has played in all 30 games thus far. Beverly has already been named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll twice and is on pace for his third all-sport accolade when the full list releases in July. The Hazard, Ky. native leads the team in made three-pointers with 44 and currently sits in eighth place in school history for career threes made with 180.

Andree, a graduate student in liberal studies, has been hampered by ankle injuries this season but has seen time in 25 games with four starts. The former Lehigh standout was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll three times before transferring to NC State. Andree is averaging 4.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 14.1 minutes per game in his final year of collegiate eligibility.
