C.J. Bryce
“It was a great team road win for us. I felt like it got a little sloppy down the stretch, but we stayed together, came together as a team, and got a great win.”
“We’d already came into the game short-handed with Pat Andree and Manny Bates out. With D.J Funderburk playing at such a high level right now, we kept going to the bench early. It was a problem for us at first, but Danny [Dixon] did a great job coming off the bench. He got some rebounds for us, brought energy, and kept us moving forward.”
“I thought we did a really good job of keeping our composure. They had a chance to win it with that shot at the end. Gratefully, he missed it, and we can get out of here with some ice cream.”
“All glory to God on being able to make that shot and take the lead. It was a great overall win for all of us. We played all the way down the stretch to the last second. We’re going to continue to build off of it.”
“I’m a confident player. I feel like I can score against anybody. Like I said, I thank God for allowing me to make the shot, and I’m going to continue to build."
Jericole Hellems
“Throughout the game, we had ups and downs. Coach told us before the game that we would have ups and downs. After that shot, we realized we really could win this game. We came out like we always do and just kept playing until the clock’s out. For us, our mentality was just to finish the game strong if all else fails.”
“For us, we just need to keep shooting the same shots we’re getting and believing in them when we shoot them.”
“I think it’s really big for us just to show that we really are a good basketball team like Coach tells us every day. It’s fun to win games like this.”
“D.J Funderburk is just a great basketball player. He’s been a great basketball player, just getting to his spots, working hard, and playing within the offense. He’s playing really big-time for us."
