Brad Brownell: "That Little Guy Is A Nightmare For Me"

Clemson head coach Brad Brownell met with the media following NC State's 60-54 home win over the Tigers.

“Congratulations to State, I know they competed very hard.  I thought we did too.”

“I thought you saw a lot of kids on both teams really playing very hard. The defenses were making it difficult for the offenses, and our inability to make free throws was a huge factor in the game.”

“You can’t go 9-for-23... and expect to win... you run good offense and get fouled, don’t get points, it’s hard.”

“Defensively I thought we played very well... competed and fought on the glass.”

“We had that stretch in the beginning of the second half and went on a run. Credit State, those guys rallied back, pushed it back out, and we went on another run. We might have cut it all the way to six and had the ball three different times in the lane.”

“That’s the opening you have to take advantage of. We fought again, went back and forth and put a little more pressure on them.”

“Braxton Beverly... that little guy is a nightmare for me.  He hit a huge shot at the end in the corner, and I thought that was the dagger.”
