NC State redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Kollin Byers is no longer on the roster at GoPack.com.  Byers, who redshirted in 2017, didn’t play in 2018 or 2019.

Also, multiple preferred walk-ons were added to the spring roster for the 2020 season, including three true freshmen: wide receiver Keyon Caudle, tight end/wide receiver Andrew Jayne, and safety Logan Ray.  Redshirt sophomore running back Joey Ray also joins the club.

Keyon Caudle starred at running back for Tarboro (NC) High School, where he led the Vikings to consecutive 1AA football state championships before graduating in 2019.  He finished his senior year with 99 carries for 1,033 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Caudle participated in the 2019 East-West All-Star game where he was named MVP.

He is listed as a 5-foot-11, 185-pound wide receiver on the roster.

Andrew Jayne starred at wide receiver but was even better on the diamond, where he was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2018 MLB Draft.  He is now on the Wolfpack’s roster as a tight end/wide receiver.

The former Fayetteville (NC) Terry Sanford star totaled 55 catches for 1,094 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior.  He also camped at NC State, where he tested out extremely well.

Player Height Weight 40 Time Shuttle Broad Vertical
Andrew Jayne 6’4” 184 4.67 4.34 11’3 32.9

He is labeled a tight end/wide receiver on the Wolfpack’s roster and is an intriguing addition given his athletic upside.

Joey Ray and Logan Ray both played at Pilot Mountain (NC) East Surry High School.  Joey Ray, a tailback, graduated and enrolled at Wake Forest.

He spent two seasons at Wake Forest but didn’t play a snap. He’s now listed on the Wolfpack’s roster as a redshirt sophomore running back.

Logan Ray is listed as a true freshman safety after graduating from East Surry in 2019.  He played tailback and safety for East Surry, rushing for 800+ yards and 12 touchdowns while totaling 49 tackles, six tackles for a loss, and an interception defensively.

He is listed as a true freshman safety on the Wolfpack’s roster.
