Football Scoop is reporting that Dave Doeren is expected to name Tim Beck as the next offensive coordinator at NC State.

Beck has served as OC at Texas for three seasons, sharing play-calling duties with Tom Herman.  He led the Longhorns to a Top 20 scoring offense and Top 25 offensive efficiency rating, but the heat on Herman led to Beck’s demotion at the end of the regular season.

Beck followed Herman to Texas from Ohio State where his 2016 offense ranked 14th in the FBS in scoring offense and 12th in rushing offense.

In 2015, Ohio State’s offense featured a ground game that was No. 11 and averaged 35.7 points per game.

In his four seasons as Nebraska’s OC, the Huskers averaged 33.5 points per game and broke more than 50 individual records including career marks for passing yards, completions, passing touchdowns, yards from scrimmage, and total offense.

Beck is also considered a big-time recruiter as he’s currently No. 5 in 247's 2020 overall recruiter rankings.  He’s one of the best recruiters in the country.
