Why NC State? “I just loved the coaches. They made me feel at home and they just told me what was real and what I could do when I got here. So I loved that about them.
“And then they just fit because my dad was going to move to Raleigh anyway, so he’ll get a chance to see me play. It’s great that he’ll be able to see me play every game, so I just love it here and it fits perfect.”
Who Did He Pick NC State Over? Louisville, Nebraska, and Pitt, among others
IPS Take On Nehki Meredith: It seems, at some point, the NC State coaching staff decided that for their nickel position they wanted an undersized spark plug with plus athleticism and quickness mixed in with hard-nosed toughness.
Nehki Meredith appears to fit that bill.
The word on Meredith is that he collected quite an offer list in the early spring based on his film, but when schools got out to physically see him, his size/frame scared those teams away. It seems NC State saw the same player while being much less concerned about the overall size. After a RS year Meredith should add some depth and competition at the NIC spot alongside Tyler Baker-Williams and Jalen Frazier.
