IPS Take On Josh Crabtree: Crabtree is part of State’s goal of overhauling the wide receiver room with more speed. He was clocked at 4.64 40-yard dash at The Opening in April and was measured at 6-2 there. That’s a combination of size and speed only matched by CJ Riley on the Pack’s current roster.

Crabtree camped at the Alpha Wolf in July and didn’t do enough to earn an offer then, but after a good start to his senior season NC State extended an offer and Crabtree soon accepted. Based on how the receiver room looked this year, every incoming wideout is going to have a chance to get on the field. How Riley recovers from his injury will likely affect Crabtree, as well. Either way, the hope is that he can be a consistent downfield threat for the Wolfpack a couple years down the road.
