Why NC State? I chose NC State because I love Raleigh and the fan base. They are also known for sending quarterbacks to the NFL and that is my goal!
Who Did He Pick NC State Over? Iowa State, Nevada, Colorado State, Arizona, and Arizona State
IPS Take On Ben Finley: There will always be the obvious comparisons between former NC State QB Ryan Finley and his brother, class of 2020 Wolfpack commit Ben Finley. However, the two really have an interesting contrast in styles.
Ryan was an accomplished system passer with a strong arm and amazing accuracy during his time in Raleigh. Ben is somewhat of a different quarterback. He doesn’t have the prototypical delivery. It’s somewhere between a ¾ and sidearm delivery, but the velocity he generates on the ball with a quick snap of the wrist is impressive.
Unlike his brother, Ben seems to be better at improvising and making plays while on the move, which was something that Ryan struggled with at times. The younger Finley also moves well and does a great job of maneuvering and using the pocket to extend plays. While he’ll almost certainly need a year or two to develop, the tools are there that he could challenge for a starting spot down the road.
