Ingram Named ACC Defensive Back of the Week
NC State junior cornerback Chris Ingram has been given ACC Defensive Back of the Week honors for his performance against Ball State.
Ingram played in 89 snaps against the Cardinals, setting a new career high for the Salisbury, N.C. native. Ingram also recorded nine solo tackles in Saturday’s contest, another career best. Ingram’s performance aided the Wolfpack in holding Ball State’s pass-heavy offense to only three explosive plays: one rush over 10 yards and two passes over 20 yards.
Ingram’s biggest play of Saturday’s game under the Carter-Finley lights came on the Cards’ final offensive play when the Mooresville HS product intercepted Drew Plitt’s pass in the end zone to seal the Wolfpack’s victory. Ingram also broke up two passes on Saturday night.
