NC State women’s basketball Head Coach Wes Moore announced Wednesday that Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Lindsay Edmonds has been promoted to the role of Associate Head Coach on the team’s coaching staff.

“Lindsay’s role in our program has continued to grow and along with that she has taken on more responsibilities,” Moore said. “Each year I have been more and more impressed with how well she can handle doing so many different things. As Associate Head Coach, she will continue to be our Recruiting Coordinator and will oversee many other aspects of our program as we continue to build something special.”

Edmonds recently completed her sixth season with the Wolfpack as an assistant coach and has been part of Moore’s coaching staff for each of his six seasons in Raleigh. Together, they have helped the Wolfpack achieve a 140-58 record (63-33 in Atlantic Coast Conference games), four NCAA Tournament appearances, and two appearances in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 (2018 and 2019).

“I am very proud of the accomplishments this program has made under Coach Moore during the last six years,” Edmonds said. “We continue to recruit, develop, coach, and mentor fantastic young ladies who achieve success on the court, in the classroom, and in our community. I am extremely honored and blessed that Coach Moore has given me a new opportunity as the Associate Head Coach. I strongly believe our best days are yet to come and I look forward to putting in the hard work with Coach Moore, our coaching staff, and our players to take our program to the next level. Go Pack!”

Prior to her time at NC State, Edmonds was an assistant coach at James Madison for four seasons. While with the Dukes, she helped guide her teams to two Colonial Athletic Association championships, two NCAA Tournament appearances, and four total postseason appearances. She was an assistant coach and coordinated recruiting efforts at Appalachian State from 2007-09.

A 2005 graduate of Appalachian State University, Edmonds, then Lindsay Smith, was a four-year starter and 1,000-point scorer. She is a native of Winston-Salem, N.C., holds a bachelor’s degree in health promotions, and is a 2011 graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy.

Lindsay Edmonds and her husband Ulrick have two young daughters, Nylah and Halyn.
