DURHAM, N.C. – NC State baseball’s Will Wilson has been named a First Team All-American by Baseball America, as announced by the publication on Monday morning.

A junior shortstop from Kings Mountain, N.C., Wilson garnered his second All-America honor of the 2019 season, as he was recently named to Collegiate Baseball's second team.

The award marks his sixth total All-America nod, as he was tabbed a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball and DI Baseball in 2017, and named to Collegiate Baseball and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s (NCBWA) lists in 2018.

Last week, Wilson was drafted as the No. 15 overall pick to the Los Angeles Angels, becoming the first Wolfpack player to go in the first round since the duo of Carlos Rodon and Trea Turner in 2014.

In addition to his national success, Wilson was recently was named one of five finalists for the Brooks Wallace Award (given to the nation's best shortstop) and collected ACC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ACC honors last month.

This season he led the team with a .335 batting average, 20 doubles, 16 home runs and a .661 slugging percentage, and those numbers rank top 15 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. He helped the Wolfpack to a 42-19 record and its ninth NCAA Regional appearance in the last 10 seasons.
