TUSCON, Ariz. – Patrick Bailey and Will Wilson of No. 15 NC State baseball collected All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball on Thursday, as announced by the organization.

Bailey, a sophomore from Greensboro, N.C., was named to the third team while Wilson, a junior who hails from Kings Mountain, N.C., earned second team honors for the second straight season.

For Bailey, it is his second mention from the publication as he was named a freshman All-American last year. For Wilson, this the third mention of his career as he additionally earned freshman All-America honors in 2017.

The duo has played a vital part in the team’s 42-17 record and remaining nationally-ranked the entire season. NC State earned its ninth NCAA Tournament bid in the last 10 seasons and 31st overall, and opens up NCAA Regional play Friday at 12 p.m. versus Campbell in Greenville, N.C.

Bailey has been the Wolfpack’s primary backstop with 58 starts on the season. He currently owns a .291 clip with 67 hits, 17 doubles, nine homers and a .509 slugging percentage. Defensively, he has committed just five errors in 453 chances for a .989 fielding percentage, and has thrown out 32 percent of base runners attempting to swipe a bag.

He recently earned First Team All-ACC honors and was named one of 14 semifinalists for the Buster Posey Award, which honors the nation’s best catcher. Last month, Bailey was announced to USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team roster.

Wilson, who was announced as one of five finalists for the Brooks Wallace Award (given to the nation’s best shortstop) this morning, leads the team with a .346 batting average, 20 doubles, 16 home runs and a .682 slugging percentage. Those numbers rank top seven in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Last week he was named ACC Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-ACC selection, committing just six errors in 53 starts. Additionally, he has tallied 56 putouts, including a team-leading 121 assists, in 183 chances.
