Avent Expects "Crazy" Environment in Greenville

NC State's Elliott Avent met with the media after the Wolfpack was tabbed the No. 2 seed in the Greenville Regional.

Does a familiarity with the opposition help?
I guess it helps both ways.

It’s better than playing someone for the first time. You know them and they know you.

It helps both sides.

Did you have an inkling you’d end up at ECU?
All draws are tough.  I thought they’d stop doing the local stuff of putting everyone close.  Either way.

Thoughts on not hosting a regional...
 Very disappointed and very confused. You’re playing your schedule and season based on what they are telling you they are doing.

They haven’t weighed conference tournaments in forever, and this year it seemed like they weighed everyone’s conference tournament but Louisville.

I don’t know.

What type of atmosphere do you expect in Greenville?
I think it will be crazy and that’s what the players like.

You want it to be crazy, you want it to be packed, and you want it to be loud.  I think that’s what we’re getting.

More on where the team is now...
This team has gone through many things mentally and physically.  Mentally is the toughest grind right now.

We played very, very well the first half of the season and went through the injuries and didn’t play very well.  It’s still there, we just need to have a good week of practice and see what happens.
