NC State senior standout Jaylen Samuels met with the media after the 49-16 win over Furman.

You know the guy up next, Matt Dayes. I think you're two behind him.
That's great. During the game I wasn't thinking about breaking records, but that just comes as the plays come.

I just go out there and execute, make the plays that come to me.  My teammates relay on me to make those big catches and third-down conversions.

I just try to go out there and execute.

What is tailback Jaylen like?
Coach Drink, we've worked on that all week on the goalline. They had a package for me at running back and even quarterback.

Once I get the ball on the goalline, I think to score. We're that coach and I feel like nobody can stop my momentum so I'm trying to get the ball in the endzone.

Is this team ready for the rigors of ACC play?
I think so. This is what we've been waiting for. We get to play FSU at FSU.

It's the first ACC game, on the road too.  It's going to be exciting.

Do you get sentimental when you see a Shawn Boone touchdown or the Ramos touchdown?
I actually called the touchdown out before J. Mike went out there. I just knew it was coming.

To see him get back in the endzone, it was a good moment for him. When he got back to the sideline, everybody was cheering him on because they know how hard he worked to get back.

The Shawn Boone touchdown...
That was a good play.

I saw it all the way. He read it, made a good play on the ball, showed a little speed, a little bit.

He got to the endzone, that was all that mattered. I was happy for him.

Are you saying you can beat him in a race?
Most definitely.  He was running kind of slow.
