Jalen Lecque Makes It Official, Will Enter The NBA Draft
NC State 2019 point guard signee Jalen Lecque announced today on his Twitter account that he will be submitting his name into the NBA Draft.
Lecque informed Inside Pack Sports this afternoon that while he will be entering the draft he will maintain his eligibility to enroll at NC State should he not like the feedback he receives during the draft process.
“Of course I’m going to leave open the option to go to college,” Lecque stated.
A five-star recruit, Lecque signed with NC State in the fall. Wolfpack head coach Kevin Keatts raved about Lecque after the point guard prospect signed.
“Jalen is the most explosive player in the 2019 class and has become one of the premier playmakers in the country,” said Keatts. “He's a dynamic point guard who is great at getting into the lane and finishing at the rim or creating offense for his teammates. Jalen fits the mold of everything we are looking for in a guard in our system and has the potential to become a lockdown defender.
"Jalen checks off all the boxes we look for in terms of recruiting a total student-athlete. He will be a great asset to not only our program, but to the entire NC State community. We look forward to welcoming Jalen and his family to Wolfpack Nation."
“People would tell me that when you get to the college you should pick you will get that feeling on your visit, that feeling of being where you are supposed to be,” Lecque said of signing with NC State. “I felt that feeling at NC State. I knew I wanted to spend my time in college there.
“They recruited me so hard, and I just felt like it was a family. Plus I love how they treated me. The interest they showed me was real... and the whole atmosphere and environment when I was there was great.”
Lecque spent this past season at Brewster Academy (NH) where he helped lead his team to a national title.
