SIGNED: Dereon Seabron Makes It Official
Massanutten (VA) guard Dereon Seabron made his commitment to NC State official today when he signed his letter of intent with the Wolfpack.
Seabron is an ideal fit for NC State offensively.
“He’s a pass-first guard which is crazy with his ability to score,” said Massanutten head coach Chad Myers. “We use him as our primary ball-handler because he makes great decisions with the pick-and-roll. He’s so hard to keep out the paint.
“Our guys love playing with him, too, and at times he can be maybe too unselfish. We have guys right now with Division I offers and Dereon really shares the basketball. He’s just so hard to keep in front of you and so hard to keep out the paint offensively.”
At 6-foot-6, Seabron’s length makes him a valuable weapon defensively, as well.
“He can really impact the game defensively,” said Myers. “He’s all of 6-foot-6, 6-foot-7 with a 6’10 or 6’11 wingspan. Because of that length he can play multiple positions defensively and allows you to switch almost everything with him on the perimeter. He rebounds well and is competitive defensively which coaches really like about him.”
He is NC State's second signee in the 2019 class, joining five-star guard Jalen Lecque.
