LOCKER ROOM REPORT: Beverly, Walker Talk UNC Loss
NC State's Braxton Beverly and Wyatt Walker met with the media after the Wolfpack's loss at North Carolina.
Sophomore Guard Braxton Beverly
“We just have to bounce back. We took a tough one here, and they are a really good team. They play well here at home.”
“We just have to bounce back.”
“That’s something we have to work on. [Not fouling] is something we have to get better with.”
“We’ll live to see another day.”
“We’re playing really good teams. Every team in this conference is really good.”
“We just have to keep doing what we do.”
“They out-rebounded us... that’s something we have to fix.”
“It’s not the end of the world. We can bounce back from it.”
“We want him to showcase his game... I feel like he’s one of the best point guards in the country.”
“The message was to bounce back. It’s not the end of the season.”
Junior Forward Wyatt Walker
“This is what defines you as a team. We can all come together and fight, turn the season around and make the most of it or put our heads down and pout.”
“There is a lot of basketball left and big games left... it’s not too late to turn it around.”
“They want to crash the glass, and we didn’t do a good job tonight of boxing them out, and that comes down to physicality and toughness.”
“It wasn’t an Xs and Os thing tonight. It was physically hitting a body. That’s something we have to work on.”
“To put a team on the line like that, you’re just giving them free points. That was something we talked about on the scouting report. We said we wanted to make sure we’d play defense without fouling. We didn’t do that.”
“We kind of follow coach Keatts’ lead.... he said there’s a lot of basketball left.”
“I think we’re frustrated because we’re not where we want to be, but no one is lying down.”
