NC State’s Wyatt Walker and C.J. Bryce met with the media after the Wolfpack's home loss to Virginia Tech.

Junior Forward Wyatt Walker

On if it is contagious when no shots are falling...
Yeah, I mean I think it plays a big part in it. At the end of the day there’s still opportunities where a guy can make an extra pass and get an open shot, get an offensive rebound, or a defensive stop. I felt like nothing could go in, but you can’t blame it on that.

On the team’s effort today...
I think we’d be lying to ourselves if effort wasn't a factor. I don't know if was because guys just aren’t used to being in that situation where were not making shots and we’re down. I’m not really sure where to pinpoint it, but the effort was definitely lacking down the stretch.

On if the Virginia game had anything to do with today’s performance...
Maybe, maybe not, I’m not really sure. I know that every game is the most important game, the next game is the most important game. Coach Keatts preaches that, so if that’s true then that’s a problem too because we should be focused on the task at hand.

On how the team regroups...
I think it's just like any other game as bad as it was, as frustrating as it is to be in that position, you just have to move on, go into practice tomorrow, and do the same thing you normally do and put up shots. It’s definitely going to put a chip on our shoulder and were going to respond.

On if it helps the team regroup knowing North Carolina is the next game...
I mean I think it still hurts just as bad, you never want to be part of a loss like that, you know you never want to be on that side of it. Every game is a new opportunity and we got a new opportunity in front of us. We have to go back watch the tape and move on.

On if scoreless streaks play tricks on your mind...
Yeah I think so. I was thinking the whole time like were not shooting it well, but our defense is staying there and were going to start making shots eventually, and it never happened for us tonight. You know it’s just sad.

On being in striking distance for most of the game...
Yeah it felt like a strange game where you look and the score is 9-4 or something like that. You’re thinking someone is going to get hot, someone is going to get on roll. I don't even know if they really got that hot. I just think we never responded offensively and let them get a few easy buckets. It’s definitely disappointing.

On if he’s ever been apart of something like this...
I don’t think so. That was a crazy thing. I definitely have been on teams that have lost and a lopsided loss, but I don’t know if we’ve ever scored that few points.

Junior Guard C.J. Bryce

On if Virginia Tech’s zone surprised them...
No it’s actually something that we practiced. We were ready for it. Things didn’t go our way, but we have to get ready for our next game against Carolina.

On if the scoreless droughts mentally effected the team...
Yeah, we scored 10 points in the second half. That’s something that I never thought would happen for this team with the amount of talent we have in the locker room. Those shots will drop for us and we have more games to win. We’re just going to keep continuing to push forward.
