PC: Jimbo Fisher, Aggie Players Talk Gator Bowl
Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher and several of his players met with the media to discuss facing NC State in the 2018 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

I feel like we just started practice the other day.
We are very excited to be here in the Taxslayer Gator Bowl. It is the first time we have been in Florida for a bowl game since 1957. I think that is a great accomplishment for these guys.
I know NC State really well and I know coach Dave Doeren really well. Dave is a heckuva a football coach and has done a tremendous job wherever he has been. A great defensive man and a great coach. He has built NC State up.
They have got a Remington winner at center, an All-American at guard beside him, and then Finley himself, understanding where to go, to process information, get the ball out quickly. His feel for the game -- you know, I have played against him the last two years, tremendous, tremendous football player. I have great respect. I think he is going to be a great player. His knowledge plus the offense's knowledge -- plus they are very skilled. That is a three-pronged thing.
You say protect the quarterback so he can get the ball out but sometimes there is nobody out there to get the ball to. Nobody is open. They can run and is athletic and can get into the secondary. The guys know the routs. They know how to get open. It is an experienced group. It is hard to get him. You have got to pressure him. You have got to find ways to do it. They do a great job in all three phases.
I think we play in such great venues in our league. That is part of playing college football now. We do play a neutral site game in Dallas against Arkansas, and you know Jerry is an Arkansas grad so they kind of get some Arkansas fans in there.
I think he has done a great job. He has built that thing up.
Every time I have been around him we have great conversations. I feel like he is a friend.,,I think Dave is a heckuva a guy. He is an intelligent guy. I think he has done a great job at NC State.
