IPS Take On Tim McKay: McKay was NC State’s first commitment in the 2019 class and has been locked in with the Wolfpack since then.
Upside is a common theme with this class and McKay is no different. Just like his older brother Matt, Tim is enrolling in college at the age of 16. For a 16-year-old McKay is advanced physically, and that is very appealing to the staff.
McKay is unlikely to play next year, especially because he’s so young.
However, he has as much potential as anybody in the class and could easily work himself into the rotation along the interior of the offensive line sooner rather than later.
He’s a nice piece that adds depth at offensive line, and one that Thunder Dan should be able to really develop physically over the next couple of years.
