Why NC State? “I loved the family atmosphere. The playing time is great here. They have a great coaching staff and I’ll be playing with some great players. One of the dudes, Alim, he’s kind of on the sucky side... but I’m going to make him better when I get here.”
Who Did He Pick NC State Over? Alabama, Florida State, South Carolina, UNC, Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Tennessee, among others.
IPS Take On Savion Jackson: Two words come to mind when scouting Jackson: potential and upside.
He has all the tools you’re looking for in a big time college defensive end. The frame and work ethic are already there and now all he needs is some time in State’s strength and conditioning program, plus the usual adjustment to the rigors of FBS-level football.
He was outstanding in the Shrine Bowl, which included this vicious sack.
Jackson has quick feet and is so explosive out of his stance. Being an early enrollee will give him a jump start on the 2019 season and there is certainly the possibility Jackson will see reps as a true freshman.
