COMMIT ALERT: Evans Flips To NC State
NC State landed a huge commitment tonight from Monument (CO) quarterback Ty Evans. The pro-style prospect picked the Wolfpack after taking an official visit this weekend.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder was previously committed to Colorado but now plans on signing in December with NC State.
“I had a great time on the visit,” Evans said. “It was great getting to know the other recruits and hang out with coach Doeren and coach Drinkwitz.”
Evans threw for 9,453 yards and 106 touchdowns with 26 interceptions during his four years at Palmer Ridge High School.
As a senior he tore his MCL in the final regular season game but played through the playoffs, leading his team to a second-straight state title.
Evans originally committed as a sophomore to Arkansas but opened back up his recruitment after Bret Bielema’s dismissal. He picked Colorado in the spring but the program recently fired Mike Macintyre.
He previously had offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Michigan, Kansas State, Michigan State, Louisville, Texas A&M, and South Carolina among others.
Inside Pack Sports will have more from Evans on his decision in the near future.
