Finley: "Everything Was Working"
NC State senior quarterback Ryan Finley met with the media after the Wolfpack's 52-10 road win over Louisville.
Thoughts on the win today and what you did well today...
It’s an exciting win, a great team win. I love how we played with tempo at times and got in a rhythm.
Everything was working. I thought the offensive staff and coach Drink had an awesome gameplan. We executed.
It was a lot of fun.
Focus on the redzone offense...
Just executing and doing our job, enjoying it.
I think you saw our offense have a lot of fun today and that’s when we’re doing our best.
What does it say about Kelvin to have his second 1,000-yard season?
I think we all know how good he is. You just have to watch the tape to know that.
Congrats to Kelvin. 1,000 yards. To do it in 10 games, that an accomplishment. That’s pretty special.
I’m proud of him and happy for him.
How good is it to have a receiver you can throw it in his area code and know he will catch it?
Well, we have more than one. That’s even better.
It's exciting because those guys played really well today. Jakobi had some great throws. Thayer was constantly winning his one-on-ones. Kelvin came down with some great catches.
What was coach Doeren’s challenge to you and the senior leaders this week?
His challenge was to get everyone going, stick to the process, and focus on the preparation side of things.
That would lead to the results that we want.
Were you worried you’d have to overcome emotion from Louisville?
I don’t think so. For the most part it was just noise. I think a team like that is dangerous, but at the same time if you can jump out early and get in a rhythm it would be tough on them.
We knew the situation, but we knew we had to come play our game.
What did you see from Matt McKay on his drive?
It was fun watching him play.
He ran for a first down, checked into that QB sneak, he had some great throws, he had a nice scramble, he had a nice scramble and throw to Kelvin.
It was fun watching him play. He just marched us right down.
