Several NC State players met with the media after the Wolfpack's 41-7 win over Georgia State.

Freshman Nickel Tanner Ingle

"We played a lot better than we did last week. There are still a lot of things that we can work on, on defense, but overall I am excited we won and I am just here to enjoy the win."

"It felt good. I saw the play happen. I just triggered and made a good play."

"It is fun. I really can't tell because it is so early in the season but overall the experience that I have had here is great. I have loved it here."

"Our pass defense, obviously. We give up a lot of short passes. We let them move the ball down. There are a bunch of little things that we can work on."

Senior Defensive Tackle Eurndraus Bryant

"We don't want to miss this opportunity to play these games against these big teams. You want to go out and show everything you can do."

"Things started out a little rough on the first drive but after that, the boys locked in and did their job -- held them to seven points."

"Right before [blocking the field goal attempt] I kind of visualized it and what I was going to do. I took off. It started opening up the way I thought it was, I ripped the gap and got my hands up. That is all she wrote."

"A lot of people like to do a lot of sleeping. They like to look at the defensive ends as the most athletic but it is really the tackles if you ask me."

Freshman Tailback Trent Pennix

"Just seeing the development, the difference from high school, college talent -- no matter what team it is they have always got great players. You just have to be prepared. You can't underestimate these teams."

"These guys are great ballplayers so there must be a reason why you put them in the game. They can make stuff happen."

"It is big. It represents Sanderson High School."

Freshman Defensive Tackle Alim McNeill

"I really feel like we made strides from last week in the secondary and then the D-Line. Really everywhere. We weren't really focused."

"Nick McCloud, he played really good. Our entire secondary played good today. Our D-Line played good."

"I feel like it was a good team victory."

"When it happened I really thought I was going to get a penalty because I knew it was kind of high but I just wanted to bring him to the ground. I didn't know exactly what was going to happen but I just knew that I had to come up with a celebration. I wasn't prepared for that."

Freshman Wide Receiver Thayer Thomas

“The guy was holding my jersey in the back, so I couldn’t get both hands on it, but I was able to stick one hand out there. I know me, Steph, and Emeka all worked on one-handed catches all summer. Probably every other day, we go out there and catch one-handers off the Jugs. We just try to do that so we can be prepared for the moment when you have to use one hand to make the catch.”

“I feel like after I made that catch, Ryan was looking for me the whole game. I just felt like that made him more confident throwing me the ball and being able to make plays for him.”

“We were supposed to do it last week, but the play didn’t come to. This week, the defense gave us a look where we were able to make the play. I just caught it and threw it. I tried to throw it on the hash where he was running to. It ended up working out.”

“I’m blessed they trust me to go out there and play. They wouldn’t put me in positions if they didn’t trust me. That’s the one thing I wanted to this whole offseason: to gain their trust so I could go out there and play.”

Junior Wide Receiver Kelvin Harmon

“As an offense, we just clicked better. Obviously, we still have to do a lot better, but I felt like we rolled way better than last week.”

“We just kept trusting our gameplay. We knew our gameplay was going to show up today, so we just kept trusting it, and guys just made plays. Everybody did their job for the most part.”

“The rhythm is there. It’s just a matter of who’s going to be the hot guy this week. Jakobi was hot last week. This week, me and Thayer showed up a lot. Ryan just finds the open man, and we’re all capable of doing it.”

“It’s definitely scary for opposing teams because if you’re going to double-cover one of us, the middle’s going to be open. Jakobi and Thayer do a good job, and then me, C.J., Emeka, and Steph on the outside, we do a great job too. So just pick your poison.”

Senior Tailback Brady Bodine

“Exactly what you just said: it’s a long time coming. From senior year in high school to now. Some in practice, but it’s not the same as being out there on the field, and it’s definitely not the same as high school. All the guys being there encouraging me, it was awesome. It’s a big deal.”

“It’s brotherhood. It’s family. It’s really.a family here. The longest I’ve lived anywhere growing up was probably two years. I’ve lived here for four, going on five. This is my home. This is my family. It was just a big family gathering.”

“Everywhere I’ve been, there’s great people. There’s so many great players, great coaches, strength staff, to even anybody who helps out and people in the cafeteria. Everybody here is great to be around. There’s no place better."
