NAME: Jakeen Harris
POSITION: Safety
RANK: ***
VITALS: 6'0/200/4.55

NOTES: Despite holding offers from Indiana, Appalachian State, Boston College, Central Michigan, Cincinnati,, Kansas State, Marshall, Minnesota, UNC, Central Florida, South Florida, and Western Kentucky, Savannah (GA) Benedictine safety Jakeen Harris only needed one trip to NC State to know that he would be joining the Wolfpack.

Jakeen Harris can impact on special teams as well, which should help him get on the field early in his career.

Harris visited NC State the first Friday of camp as part of a huge group of 17 unofficial visitors that made the trek to Raleigh.  A few days later he picked the Wolfpack.

Harris is a fun player to watch.  He plays with an aggression you love seeing from defensive backs, as he's a willing run-stopper and edge-setter as a nickel.

He is versatile... capable of playing nickel, safety, and even some corner (particularly in zone schemes).

What stands out the most about Harris is his motor and instincts.  He attacks downhill and plays with his eyes, which is critical given the need to force turnovers on the college level.  Harris isn't afraid to trust his instincts which often leads to huge plays that can impact games.

Instantly he's a player capable of contributing at least on special teams and he should be an ideal fit at nickelback for NC State.

Here is your chance to catch the Wolfpack's latest commitment in action!
