NOTES: NC State received a huge commitment last week when Shelby (NC) linebacker Jaylon Scott picked the Wolfpack. Scott is considered one of the top linebackers in the region.
Scott checks in at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, and as a junior he totaled 85 tackles, five sacks, and three forced fumbles.
For Scott, his approach is simple.
"I see myself as a playmaker," he previously told Inside Pack Sports. "I do well out in space where I can run and make plays. I feel like I need to work on my speed and shedding blocks. College coaches have told me I shed blocks well, but I think I need to work on that more."
Scott held offers from Clemson, Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Maryland, and Syracuse among others prior to his Wolfpack commitment.
The Wolfpack's first linebacker commitment in the 2019 class, Scott is rated the No. 12 player in the state by Inside Pack Sports.
On film he's an explosive tackler who runs sideline-to-sideline making plays all game long. Scott is physical, athletic, and aggressive. He appears to be a fundamentally-strong tackler and can play inside or outside due to his athleticism and playmaking ability. Scott can play all three downs on defense and should excel early in his career on special teams.
