NC State offensive lineman Jai'Lun Hampton, who transferred in this spring from UT-Martin, has announced his waiver for an extra year of eligibility has been denied.

Hampton was a Big South All-Conference Second Team selection last season.

He enrolled in the spring and was competing for a spot on the depth chart along the offensive line.

Hampton began his career in 2021 but redshirted as a true freshman before playing at Iowa Western Community College in 2022, where he helped the Reivers to a 10-2 record and the national championship.

Hampton then transferred to Charlotte in 2023 but did not play before transferring to UT Martin in 2024 where he played two seasons for the Skyhawks.

He was expecting to get an additional year of eligibility after not playing two seasons but his waiver wasn’t approved.
