RALEIGH, N.C. – Head coach Wes Moore has picked up his first addition out of the transfer portal ahead of the 2026-27 season with Khady Leye from Auburn, as announced on Saturday. Leye is a 6-2 forward from Senegal, coming into NC State with two years of eligibility remaining.
"We're excited to add Khady to the Pack," said Moore. "She's an athletic forward that can run the floor as well as explode around people in the half court. Her length and quickness makes her a factor on the boards on both ends, and her experience at the Power 4 level should make for an easier transition into the ACC."
Leye spent this past season at Auburn, where she was one of two players on the roster to start in all 32 games, having averaged 9.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Leye was the Tigers' leading rebounder and shot 44 percent from the field and 72.2 percent from the free throw line. Leye scored in double digits on 15 different occasions, logged two 20+ point contests and registered two double-doubles.
She hit the game-winning layup with 5.2 seconds remaining against Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament, ending that game with 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. She also recorded a career-high 20 points on two different occasions against Mississippi Valley State and Kentucky.
The Louga, Senegal native started her career at Towson, where she averaged 9.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game with nine starts in 32 games played. She set a school record for four CAA Rookie of the Week awards and was named to the All-CAA Rookie Team. As a freshman, she led Towson in rebounds and scored in double figures 15 times, including a season-high 19 points vs. Youngstown State. Leye also logged five double-doubles, the most by a freshman in the CAA during the 2024-25 season.
In her collegiate career, Leye has averaged 9.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. She has started in 41 of 64 game appearances through her first two years of collegiate basketball.
Leye attended Spire Academy in Ohio and averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior. She was named MVP of Nike Tournament of Champions and also averaged 27 points and 14 rebounds per game at The Mecca.
Leye joins an incoming class that features two 2026 SportsCenter NEXT Top 100 signees Kamora Pruitt and Annsley Trivette.
