Valdez Dismissed From Team, Will Transfer

NC State redshirt sophomore cornerback James Markel Valdez will transfer to another school after being dismissed for a violation of team rules. 

Valdez confirmed his transfer on Twitter.

Valdez tore his ACL last season in the second game of the season against Marshall, and he missed all of spring practice.  He was expected to compete for playing time at cornerback this upcoming season. However, NC State has added plenty of depth at the position with a large incoming class and after moving Maurice Trowell to cornerback from wide receiver in the spring.

Valdez ends his career with four tackles.

According to his release, he's free to transfer to any non-ACC school or any school that is not on NC State's 2018 schedule.
