Just what would it feel like to get a win and kind of get one back in the win column and build some momentum before you head into the ACC tournament?
QUIGLEY: I definitely think we needed that.
I was just asking, last home game of the regular season, did it feel good to kind of get one back in the win column here and build some momentum as you guys go on the road and then go to Georgia?
QUIGLEY: Yeah, definitely that was a big win for us. We definitely needed that going to play, Pitt in an ACC tournament coming up, and just closing out and getting that fourth seed for the tournament.
I'm distracted.
QUIGLEY: I'm so lost. What was that?
Well, Devyn, a season high in scoring for you tonight. What was working tonight?
QUIGLEY: I think, I don't really know. I'm like so bipolar. It's like you look at my gaze throughout the season, and you'll see that I had good shooting nights, and then it kind of drifted away. But I definitely think towards the end of the season, it's just like my mindset and just having more fun when I'm out there. Not that I wasn't before. It was just more anxiety and being so nervous.
And now I'm able to just go out there and be like, you know, this is the game I've been playing for so long. So just have fun.
BROOKS: Who was y'all's favorite memory of the season?
QUIGLEY: Mine was when Zoe, I don't know what happened. It was like a rebound, and Zoe stepped on the ball and fell on her face. And it was so funny how she fell.
BROOKS: Wow.
QUIGLEY: I like replaying that all the time. Sorry, Zoe.
BROOKS: At Davidson?
QUIGLEY: Yes!
TRYGGER: I don't know. Being with you is always my favorite time.
BROOKS: See y'all! Go Pack!
Y'all had 16 offensive rebounds today, 22 second chance points. What was, I guess, working so well on that end of the floor for you guys, being able to get those little boards and then put them back?
TRYGGER: I think that our rebounding today won the game for us. So, because we, as you said, had a lot of second-chance points, and I feel like we're focusing a lot on rebounding, but Khamil and I are trying to go in there, especially when they play a lot of zone, and rebounding is key. So I was very focused on rebounding today because I knew that was going to help us a lot.
This hasn't been the easiest season. There's been some really tough losses, but I think you saw it. Zoe is going in here, be silly. She can do both. She can be serious, but she can also have that really fun side to her. How important is that kind of dynamic for the team as it goes through some of those stretchers and moves forward now?
TRYGGER: Yeah, I think all of us are like that. Even Coach Moore, like outside of the court, we can always have fun together, and we're having a good time. But when it comes to like on the court, it's like all about business, and we have to take care of business. And if we win, if we lose, we move on, but we still always look at where we can do better. And we're having a great time doing it.
It was a singular scene, and I kind of feel like Zoe has picked up that veteran role or mentality a little bit. Can you talk about her impact both on the court and in the locker room?
TRYGGER: She is great. Almost loves her. Like you all see her energy. It's just like when she comes into a room, you notice her energy, and we really need that every game. And she shows up every day, and it's just such a big person to have on our team. And we're really fortunate to have her.
Gave up a 9-0-1 to end the game. Felt like it was maybe a little, maybe not the defense y'all wanted to play down the stretch. Was there anything specific that Wake was silly about, or do you think that was just more on your end in terms of focus?
QUIGLEY: I definitely want to say it was a mixture of both. Wake is a very fundamental team. They do a lot of screens, cuts, and it's very hard to play against teams like that, especially when everybody out there can shoot the way that they do.
And, going back to what you said about us, the silliness and then the shift to serious, I think that's just us being young, and that even shows out there a little bit. Like some things were definitely preventable. Like he got on us a lot about the post-ups and not getting posted up.
And, I think this game was really good to show us what we need to work on and kind of expose us, so we could patch it up going into the tournament.
