NC State has landed a massive commitment from 2027 quarterback Gunner Rivers. The St Michael (AL) prospect and son of NC State legend Philip Rivers will follow in his father’s footsteps and join the Wolfpack.
Rivers made the trip to Raleigh multiple times in 2025, including NC State’s home rout of rival North Carolina in late November.
Those visits made a huge impression on the young quarterback, who chose the Wolfpack over the likes of Auburn, Alabama, Texas, and many others.
Rivers is a consensus 4-star prospect and checks in as the No. 7 quarterback and No. 90 prospect nationally in the 2027 class per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Rivers will reunite with former St. Michael teammate Noah Moss, a 2026 running back commit for NC State.
