NC State head coach Dave Doeren has announced several changes to the Wolfpack football staff prior to the 2026 season.

On the coaching staff, Charley Wiles, a 40-year coaching veteran who has served as the Wolfpack's defensive line coach for the past six seasons, has moved into the role of Director of High School Relations. He will take over for Henry Trevathan, who retired on Feb. 1 after serving in that position since 2013.

“First of all, I want to thank Henry Trevathan for his many contributions to our program during my time at NC State,” said Doeren. “He has strengthened and developed so many relationships, both internally and externally, and we will truly miss him.

“I'm very thankful that Charley will continue to be an important part of our program because he is a great mentor to many people - both players and coaches. He's never met a stranger and has so many connections throughout college football. I know he will excel in his new role.”

With Wiles' move off the field, DJ Eliot will coach the Ends and Jacks, while Elisha Shaw will coach the defensive tackles and nose guards.

Former Wolfpack captain Isaiah Moore, who spent last season as a defensive quality control coach, will now mentor the Wolfpack inside linebackers. Moore started for five seasons for the Wolfpack, was a three-year captain, and a second-team All-ACC performer. After a stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, Moore returned to NC State, where he served as a volunteer coach and then a graduate assistant.

“Isaiah has blood in the bricks here at NC State and helped build our culture,” Doeren continued. “He did a great job working alongside DJ with our linebackers last year, and he has a very promising future ahead as a coach. I'm very proud of him and excited about watching him continue to grow.”

Off the field, Kevin Cristello has been named Assistant AD and Football Chief of Staff. Cristello comes to NC State after serving in that same role at Coastal Carolina. Prior to joining the Coastal program in 2018, Cristello served in football operations roles at Nebraska and Eastern Kentucky.
